Mom’s Complaint Causes Textbook Rewrite

Roni Dean-Burren (in the picture) got a text message from her son, Coby Burren, with a photo wrongly reporting on the Atlantic Slave Trade during the 1500s through 1800s.

The captions in the McGraw-Hill history book wrote:

The Atlantic Slave Trade between the 1500s and 1800s brought millions of “workers” from Africa to the southern United States to work on agricultural plantations.

Obviously, writings like this are caused to soften the blow for whites today about what their ancestors did during this period of illegally kidnapping, killing, raping, and holding captive innocent children, men and women from Africa and Europe.

If people read the wording “workers” it is presented as if this was a economical move that benefitted the workers and the goodhearted United States of America.

This got a lot of attention, in fact, so much attention that McGraw-Hill are recalling the books and rewriting it correctly. We commend Coby and his mother Roni for making a statement against how history is told and how it really went! 🙂

A 6ft beauty has hit the stages of Israel and will probably yank the hearts of the international stage, when she stole the hearts of views and more importantly, judges of the Miss Israel beauty pageant.

The 21 year young Queen Titi Aynaw, won the Miss Israel pageant, being the first Ethiopian immigrant to win the Miss Israel title. Many who have worked with her, says, she’s had a long journey over the last 11 years, overcoming much.

She was born in an Ethiopian village where modern structures were not even to her existence. She loss both her parents before she was 12 years of age. Journeying to Israel to find new life with her grandpa, she has now been elevated to new statures.

In Israel, nearly 122,000 Ethiopian descent are citizens and Queen Titi stands tall among them all. Hopefully, like Queen Esther, Titi can use her stature to help some of the troubles happening to her people in Israel today!

“This was an incredible moment,” Titi says. “Obama is a figure that I want to emulate. I did a project on him in school and I knew what he had been through and what he had done. He was like a mentor for me, so to meet him and say hello, it was like closing a circle.”
