The Bible compares the children of Israel to the Ethiopians. In the book of Amos, it is written that the God of Israel’s compared His children of Israel to the Ethiopians. One would have to ask in what way? It could be in stature, it could be in appearance, it could be in physical ability, or it could be in personality. They are certainly compared to each other in physical nature and physical appearance and looks. The Ethiopian are of the seed of the children of Ham. This would simply mean that the Ethiopians are of a brown/black skin complexion today. If this is the case, the children of Israel then also would be of the same brown/black complexion today also.
The Bible Compares
the Children of Israel
to the Ethiopians
Why is this important today? It’s important because the children of Israel have commonly been known to be compared to the ancient Egyptians. After all, they spent a lot of time in Egypt before they were sprang by the God of Israel. However after six or seven hundred AD, the ancient Egyptians were taken out or push out of control of their land by the Arabs. Egypt has been under Arab rule from that time period till today. Therefore, the people who are in Egypt today, the people we see feuding in the news in Egypt today are not the people of the land of Egypt originally.
This is easily shown in the depictions between the ancient Hamitic (African) people of Egypt and the current Arabic people of Egypt who are occupying Egypt in the mainland today. Today a group of people have called themselves or have been called Falashas, and they live in Ethiopia to today. They are known as and identify themselves as the children of Dan or the Danites; who are a tribe of the children of Israel. Looking at the Falashas (Danites) and the Ethiopians of the land, you would not know the difference in them by skin color. Although they resemble each other, they are totally different people.
The Bible Compares the Children of Israel to the Ethiopians … why?
The children of Israel are from the seed of Shem and the Ethiopian is from the seed of Ham. They are two different families but they look the same by skin color. It is similar to a white person from Greece and a white person from Spain. They look alike by skin color but they are two different nations or different families of race. This is how the children of Israel are compared to the Ethiopian. It is by culture and color. This lets us know that some of the children of Shem were dark skin black people and some were tan like our Arab brothers and sisters, lucking out on having the hair like wool.
The Bible Compares the Children of Israel to the Ethiopians … with Good Reason!
God Almighty, specifically made the prophet write this in the book of Amos, because there would have been a long debate that the children of Israel are suppose to look like the Egyptians. Since Egypt has been governed by Ishmaelites, it was a plan B to compare the children of Israel to the Ethiopians. Bless the Creator for understanding and for given provision.
