John VI of Portugal Starts Brazil
Mixed brother used to be called mulattos and that is exactly what King John VI of Portugal was.
He ruled during the late 1700s and in 1808 this guy desired to see what life was like in Brazil, which has recently been “discovered” and cultivated.
John VI moved his throne to Rio de Janeiro in 1808 and ruled Portugal from Brazil. This is one of the first and rare times a European country was governed by a “new world” American one.
